Carlos Dias Jr. is a Financial Planning Expert and Fee-Only Financial Advisor at MVP Wealth Management Group and Excel Tax & Wealth Group based in the Orlando, Florida area. He concentrates his practice in the areas of tax, financial, and estate planning, investment advisory, portfolio management, and asset protection.

Born in New Jersey to immigrant parents of Portuguese and South-American ancestry, he grew up in a multicultural home and learned to speak Portuguese and Spanish at an early age. From the beginning, Carlos aspired to intertwine his leadership skills and passions for the financial industry with his education. He established a local management and consulting company in 2001 at the same time that he commenced his studies as a first-generation college student at Daytona State College. However, the pivotal moment of his career occurred when he began to work with large-scale corporations like Bankers Life and Casualty Company and New York Life Insurance Company in 2004. While both companies allowed him the opportunity to manage his own line of products, oversee and work with his personal team, procure clientele, and teach financial professionals, he felt restricted in the products he could offer clients.

In 2007, he launched his own financial services company, Dias & Associates, which focused primarily on retirees. For Carlos_Dias_Jr_Lauren_Dias_Braeden_Dias_Laia_Diasfour years he developed his passion for retirement planning and helped a variety of clients—from individuals to high net worth individuals—become educated on finding the best products and financial plan for their lifestyle to ensure a successful and fulfilling retirement. By 2011, he started to specialize in strategic tax planning, investment advisory, and wealth/portfolio management. Carlos created Excel Tax Planning in 2011 with a focus on developing creative strategies that combined tax and finance and effectively balanced a tax and financial portfolio. He worked with and taught CPA’s strategies in tax preparation, tax planning, charitable tax planning, Roth IRA conversion planning, social security taxation reduction, and small business strategy planning so that their clients, especially high net worth individuals with hefty tax problems, could have the most efficient portfolios to enhance their future goals.

Carlos had always admired athletes and their commitment to their craft (something he emulated in his own career) and during his time with Dias & Associates and Excel Tax Planning he realized that he could combine his passion for sports and entertainment with his knowledge of wealth management to generate a long-term career. He noticed that athletes and entertainers experienced little loyalty and devotion from their financial planners in enhancing their earnings or helping them progress financially for a successful future at the end of their careers. Furthermore, he had worked with sports agents and athletes directly and discovered that they accumulated their wealth in a relatively short span, were in an extremely competitive market handling constant business offers, faced more financial hurdles with their travels and all the different laws per location they visited, and so forth.

Carlos decided to dedicate his time to improving his financial literacy, understanding the industry from an insider’s perspective, and making global connections with professionals in the field to find his niche in the industry. In 2013, he emerged with both MVP Wealth Management Group and Excel Tax & Wealth Group which both handle all aspects of wealth management and long-term planning. The distinction lies in the fact that MVP Wealth Management Group is geared towards athletes, high net worth individuals, and entertainers who ultimately face more complications, risks, and potential challenges that would a regularly employed individual and therefore need the most care and protection.

Since 2005, Carlos has devoted himself to thoroughly learning about all aspects of wealth management across a variety of careers. In 2011 he became Certified in Long-Term Care; in April 2014, he became a Registered Financial Consultant; and is a former Ed Slott IRA Advisor.

Carlos is recognized for his ability in making intricate financial and tax planning issues understandable and is regarded for his devotion and commitment to the diverse needs of high net worth clients. He consults high net worth individuals, accredited investors, corporations, lottery winners, 501(c)(3) and charitable organizations, as well as other professionals including doctors, attorneys, professional athletes, and celebrities. He has become a point of reference and resource to Elder/Estate Planning Attorneys and CPA’s across the State of Florida and has taught CPA’s, CFP’s, and Estate Planning Attorneys unique and creative ways to help their clients’ financial portfolios. Additionally, he actively hosts educational workshops for retired seniors as well as Retired NFL and NBA athletes.
